Our high-quality ingredients are sourced locally and the extraction process does not compromise the bio-matrix integrity of the fruit or plant, unlike the old methods of drawn out percolation or heat, where the raw material is often left stewing for days, fermenting & breaking down. Our extraction method delivers larger peaks, & often identifies more active compounds than competitive extracts tested. Our extracts are pure, locally sourced, unadulterated, are highly “active” & ethical. Under no circumstances do we preform animal testing or even condone this kind of barbaric outdated practice. Our products are 100% Vegan, with no animal bi-products being used in any of our formulations.
L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)
Vitamin C is also known as ascorbic acid, it is the key to the production of collagen, the protein that aids in the growth of cells and blood vessels and gives skin its firmness and strength.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage, free radicals are unstable molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.
• Protect skin cells and skin’s support structure from UV-related damage • Improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin • Strengthen skin’s barrier response • Reduce inflammation • Promote collagen production
Papaya is a beta carotene rich food which is filled with powerful enzymes and phytochemicals that are good for skin. The enzymes in papaya combat free radicals hence slowing fine line and wrinkle formation. The secret beauty nutrient in papaya is papain, which is an enzyme that has skin lightening properties which help fade blemishes, acne scars as well as lighten skin tones. Together with alpha hydroxy acids, papain acts as a gentle exfoliator which helps dissolve inactive protein and dead cells at the top layer of skin.
Bromelain is an enzyme naturally found in pineapples that will benefit the skin by clearing away oil and dirt, and break down and get rid of dead skin cells. Another enzyme in pineapples that can help improve the health of your skin is papain, which will stop itching and excessive dryness. Pineapple acts as a rejuvenating agent to exfoliate unclogs acne pores. The enzymes found in pineapples will fight free-radical damage and also cleanse the skin by dissolving blackheads and dead cells from the skin’s surface. This also unclogs the skin and prevents build-up of acne and pimples. Excess oils from our sebum and skin cells clogs the pores thus resulting in bacteria growth.
Lilli Pilli
The lilli pilli fruit has been found to possess good astringent properties, a high vitamin C and anti-oxidant content, and fruit acids to exfoliate the skin. Lilli Pilli is a summer flowering evergreen shrub, belonging to the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It has smooth waxy leaves and dark red berries with a clove-like fragrance. Native Aborigines traditionally used Lilli Pilli for its great healing and anti-bacterial properties and ate the berries when in season for the vitamin C content. The Lilli Pilli has good astringent properties that improve firmness of the skin, while its high vitamin C and fruit acid content create great anti-ageing effects to keep skin looking radiant and youthful.
Kakadu Plum
The Kakadu Plum fruit has the highest known vitamin C concentration of any single natural food source in the world. For thousands of years native Aborigines used the Kakadu Plum extensively as a food source due to its high vitamin C content and also for traditional medicine and healing on the skin. A native plant grown mainly in the northern areas of Australia, including the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. Each plum contains up to 4% ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) – this content is equivalent to 10 oranges! Kakadu Plum contains 50 times more ascorbic acid than citrus fruits. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant in skin care as it helps prevent the breakdown of collagen.
Desert Lime
The Australian Desert Lime is packed with tiny pearls of potent actives that support collagen production and skin repair. Also known as the native cumquat this ‘wild lime’ which gains its soothing, re-balancing and revitalising properties from the high level of antioxidants it contains.
Hyaluronic Acid
This amazing ingredient has the ability to retain moisture; it’s considered to have a greater capacity to hold moisture than any other ingredient. In fact, one gram of hyaluronic acid is able to hold up to six liters of water.
Hyaluronic acid’s moisture-binding characteristic is exceptionally important when it comes to skin aging. One of the qualities of youthful skin is its ability to hold water and retain a balanced amount of moisture. As we age, our skin loses the ability to maintain this vital, plumping moisture as well as it once did. The result is visible loss of firmness, pliability, and diminished appearance of plumpness and suppleness.
Hyaluronic acid can enhance moisture content beyond comparison with anything else, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, especially, radiantly hydrated! That’s how it instantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Quandong contains high traces of vitamin C (even higher than oranges). In particular, Quandong extract was well known for its anti-bacterial properties. Quandong grows berry like fruit that are bright red in colour. Known as “Desert Peach”, Aborigines used Quandong mainly for medicinal properties where it was typically crushed and applied to the skin to treat sores, burns and irritations. Quandong is highly moisturising for the skin.
